Karine Jean-Pierre was Press Secretary and Assistant to President Joe Biden, having previously served in senior communication and political roles in the Biden Administration, the Biden campaign, and to then-Vice President Biden during the Obama Administration. She has also served as Chief Public Affairs Officer for MoveOn.org and as an NBC and MSNBC Political Analyst, and she was a lecturer in international and public affairs at Columbia University.
Born in Martinique and raised in New York, Karine was honored with the Carnegie Corporation’s Great Immigrants Award in recognition of her barrier-breaking achievements in politics. She is the author of a memoir, Moving Forward: A Story of Hope, Hard Work, and the Promise of America.
