08/02: Soledad O'Brien Named 2010 Journalist of the Year

This weekend, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) presented its 2010 Journalist of the Year Award to CNN anchor and special correspondent Soledad O’Brien. Honored for her use of content, creativity, innovation, and relevance to the black community, NABJ President Kathy Times remarked that, “From the presidential administration, to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the economy and so on, the stories…were remarkable.”

One of America’s most popular celebrity speakers, Soledad O’Brien is widely known for reporting on today’s most pressing issues. From CNN’s In America series to reports on elections, the earthquake in Haiti, and an upcoming documentary on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, O’Brien’s insight and compassion sets her apart. 07/09: Nina Totenberg Named a 2010 Recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award

National Public Radio’s award-winning legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg has another honor to add to her collection: the 2010 Edward R. Murrow Award, bestowed by The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Upon awarding Totenberg with the prestigious prize, CPB CEO Pat Harrison commented, “Nina Totenberg represents public media’s excellence in journalism...we’re pleased to honor her with this distinguished reward.”
