12/16: Jean-Michel Cousteau at Copenhagen Climate Change Conference: “By Protecting the Oceans We Protect Ourselves”

This week, ocean explorer and adventurer Jean-Michel Cousteau captivated the crowd at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference (COP 15) with his speech on protecting the oceans. Well known for his lifelong commitment to preserving “all marine life and their habitats,” he addressed how climate change has devastated many of the world’s seas. Speaking in particular on how carbon emissions change the chemical balance of the earth’s water, he outlined the dangerous chain reaction that is now occurring, and boldly urged the COP 15 attendees to significantly reduce carbon emissions.
